Parents need to know

Parents need to know that this ad-free site, developed by the highly respected Nemours Foundation and regularly reviewed by health care professionals, dishes easy-to-digest health information for kids. Topics range from a breakdown of everyday illnesses and injuries to advice for those with problems in school such as cheating and getting along with teachers.

Families can talk about what kids should do when they have a medical or health question. Who can they trust to ask questions and get good advice? Why is it important to ask questions when they arise, no matter how embarrassing, rather than hold them in?

Articles (some are translated into Spanish) are easy to read and understand, and don't talk down to kids. And, there's always "Word!" -- a handy glossary to decode any unfamiliar medical jargon if you get confused. One of the coolest features of the site is My Body, where you can scroll over a diagram of a body to get more information on certain body parts or link to articles on the subject.
