Ok. I have a serious problem with reality programming as it is due to its ungodly depictions and editing of camera hungry lost souls, but this "Super sweet 16" show features some of the most vapid, unlikable, self absorbed young people to walk the earth. I was breezing through channels, and stopped at this aberration for some unknown reason. I watched about 3-4 minutes (which I will never get back) of some 16 year old megalomaniac fly into her party in a helicopter, and had a small tantrum when no one was there to see her arrive in such a glorious, superior fashion. MTV is a despicable network for showing these superficial, empty-shelled caricatures of humans to other kids, or adults for that matter. The not-so-funny-thing-is is that the parents are even worse than the children (the kids just haven't had as much time to develop their nauseating views and behaviors yet). I'm glad that today's society places so much importance on what teens think and do since they have lived so long, gathered so much experience, and through this, can give the world so much wisdom about things like cell phones, cool, heavily-produced music, daddy's credit card, and how it's lame to be old. Other societies must look at ours and just shake their heads; we've allowed ourselves to be distracted by the most useless of "entertainment" that make for some of the most shamelessly unaware individuals that exist. I think that it's largely because the media has hijacked a huge section of the populace's mindset. I had to write this because we live in a world filled with striking dichotomies that need to be addressed, and not avoided only because the truth would make everyone living too comfortably a little too contrite; we should not be looking for cheap, tv/circus side shows, but, instead, seeking a personal way to improve the rapidly worsening condition of the world we share.

stacybonds I understand how you feel. But rich people do what they wana do it their money. They just have so much that they spoil their kids and waste money. I agree that rich kids are disgustingly spoiled brats but let the parents decide how the want their kids to behave. And they will continue doing what they want to do ITS THEIR MONEY NOT YOURS

Ok what girl doesn't want the greatest 16th birthday party ever? with a popstar hundreds of friends and to top it off the coolest car! i watch this all the time on t.v it's not sexual or drug/alcohol/tobacco related at all! Teenage girls are gonna say they're daddies litlle girl and they love to spend their parents money...but who doesn't??? This is a great way for your teenage girl to look at some of these girls and say to themselves "hey thats stupid that she would do that at her party." or "At my sweet sixteen i want that same theme!!" It's not bad for a girl to be spoiled its good!
