Great story about values and first love
Underneath the story of a budding tween love are lessons about values. We see the consequences of anger, pride, judgment, and discrimination. We see the benefits of forgiveness, open-mindedness, and love. And through the honest reflection of the two main characters we probably see ourselves. A great story to share with your tween - we listened to it as an audiobook in the car and talked about it.

Wonderful message about being true to yourself and not giving up hope when people disappoint you in life. The most endearing part is the fact that the two main characters struggle with what is the right thing to do, go with the crowd or be true to yourself. I love this book for its message and the sweet, innocent love story.

Cute book but not the best ive read
I picked this up at my library as a quick read. I love the whole story. The boy has the "cootie fever" everytime the girl got close to him in the beginning. He starts to warm up to her eventually and it does turn out to be enjoyable. I wasn't really satisfied with the ending, but who knows, maybe you will be :)

Good...ish
This was a tried- and- true story... until now. The book is somewhat boring and there is no real action... unlike true love stories. Since it is grade school, there are no daring feats to get anyone's attention, no insane tries for true love. There are many sad parts, but I didn't cry. It is good for people who aren't used to atention- getting scenes or anything.

Captivating.
This story captivated my attention from the beginning and held it untill the end . I read it a little over two years ago right after my eleventh birthday and it really hit home. This was one of the first teen/tween books i had read that didnt deal with problems or issues that i was too young to face. It dealt with the real life situation of a sweet girl liking a boy and well the ending [which i wont spoil]was just really beautiful.
