What parents need to know

Parents need to know that this engaging learning adventure will teach kids some facts about Puffins and their envionments. Players help other birds, fly
around the island, start a family, and can unlock educational clips featuring
the birds and their environment.

  • Controls are easy enough to learn, but the twists and turns of some racing levels have the potential to frustrate younger gamers.

What's it about?

PUFFINS ISLAND ADVENTURE puts the player in the role of a
lone puffin on an island. The goal of the game is build a reputation by playing games and
helping other puffins. In doing this, you earn a burrow to live in, attract a mate, and eventually have a baby puffin. The game has
over 100 minigames ranging from races around a themed track to tidal
pool fishing and baby bird feeding.

Is it any good?

The game looks extremely good for a DS game, and features
some great 3D cinematics. The minigames
are quite fun and can start to challenge younger gamers as they make
their way through the title. The best feature is the trivia that’s inserted
throughout the game as well as the real video of actual puffins in their
natural environment, building a  connection to what’s taking place in the
game and the real world.
