OK Will Smith action flick, could've been better.
The movie itself was a bit stupid but i always was a Will SMith fan so that saved it pus the amazing special effect. But this extreme alcoholic swears like a sailor and gives us 1 F bomb.

Great movie for kids 10 and up!!!!
This movie is amazing! Hancock is a superhero (a rude one) so expect the kind of violence that you see in spider-man, batman, and other superhero movies. Be aware that Hancock is an alchaholic. Just to say, nearly every other sentence in this movie contains a*s or a**hole. This definatley a movie for 10+ mabey even 11+ depending on your family. If you ahve an ten or an eleven year old let them watch it!!!!

Caution:Unrated version starts with sex scene
I looked at the common sense rating before renting Hancock at Netflix. It showed no sex scenes. Then I watched it at home. (Mild Spoiler Warning) At the beginning of the film, it has a woman driving Hancock back to his trailer where she wants to have sex with him. The scene that follows is inappropriate for kids. While it does not show any body parts, the conversation and results of the encounter are crude and rude. Then there is the problem with the use of swear words throughout the movie. But that rather pales to the scene where Hancock (Spoiler warning) puts one prisoner's head up another prisoner's buttocks. While we only see the results, the language was crude as is the resulting image. As for the quality of the story, it is severely lacking, and neither my 13 or 15 year old found the movie to be good or worth seeing in the first place. Very disappointing movie from Will Smith.

Mature subject
My parents didn't want my 7- year old sister to watch it. I find that it's goo for kids over 10 (but not the unrated edition).

Good movie
This is a great move - it's funny, there's action..all good stuff. My 7 year old wanted to see it, but we watched it first and decided it's not really appropriate. There is a lot of violence and language. More so, in my opinion, than movies like Iron Man or The Hulk.
I rate this title iffy for age 14 and give itA good movie, hey it's Will Smith...
Well, to start off, this was a good movie. Hancock is an alchoholic, so you can know right now that alchohol is in this movie, and quite a bit of it. The violence is intense. This movies violence is more intense than most PG-13 movies, but still hardly pushing the PG-13 limits. Not alot of sexual content, a husband and wife lay in bed and kiss... A man kisses another man's wife. The language and vulgar humor is pushing the PG-13 limits alot. One f**k, and a lot of other harsh language. Hancock sticks a man's head up another man's behind. Parents, know your kid. This isn't for all fourteen year olds, but some will be fine...

My new favorite movie!!
This is by far the best superhero movie of all time. A must see for everyone.

One less scene = one better movie
Deleting the prison scene would make this a better movie. That was just in bad taste and not necessary

Started fun--ended dark
This movie began in a comical albeit questionable way--at the end was very violent and graphically dark. The storyline could've held its own without the gross violent content and ridiculous swearing. We took our girls to see Hancock--and left towards the end when the violence became too much--gunshot wounds, knife to the back of the neck etc. Many people think kids are resilient--but remember that what we expose them to cannot be undone. Those images won't be erased from my girls' memories...not good. Also worth mentioning is that although the movie is rated PG 13 the trailers beforehand were very, very inappropriate--many were rated R and one preview was shocking--drug use, sexual content and OMG images. So, when taking your kids to see Hancock be forwarned that you will be hit with previews that will not be age appropriate in any way. I rated this movie for ages 13-16 with the preference of closer to 16.

Hmmm...
I really liked the movie alot...I did not like the fact that I took my 5 and 8yr old....This is one of those movies that fall under the "see it first" category...I really should have done that. I would not have taken my kids. Thankfully my 5yr old fell asleep. Will Smith is drunk 90% of the movie, decent amount of bad language, and serious violence. My 8yr old did like it, but I was not comfortable with the content at all. I am very liberal with what movie I take my kids to...however this one was over the line for me. It was borderline PG-13. Great movie for "mom and dad date night" :-)

Strange twist that didn't really go anywhere
Overall reasonably watchable, but the midway plot twist is a bit pointless and left me a bit disappointed. At that point it felt like a twist was needed but the one that came wasn't especially clever. The ending too was quite naff and came very unexpectedly. However, the film will probably do quite well at the Box Office as there seems to be a lot of hype about it. I wouldn't recommend this for children under 11 or 12 as there is a surprising amount of fairly graphic violence for a 12A.

Too gory and violent for preteens
This movie was super violent and it had a really bloody gory scene at the end. I suppose it had a good message when Hancock tries to turn his life around but that's it.

Hancock?
«Hancock » is a science-fiction and action film, it is one of the famous movies in which Will Smith plays the main character. But he is not the only actor; in this movie, Will Smith plays a super hero, John Hancock, who cannot control well his powers, Jason Bateman plays an honest worker whose name is Ray Embrey and Charlie Theron plays his wife, Mary. The story happens on our days in the city of New York. John Hancock is a man like others; only one makes him different than others, he is a super hero and the only one in the city. From now everything is okay, but this part of him makes that no one understands him. He never realizes his force and at any movement he breaks something around him; the complaints of the population increase the pressure he undergoes. But the destiny made him to cross Ray Embrey’s way. Unlike him, Ray is a normal citizen; his job, to reclaim new product. Ray is going to do his best to reclaim John; he will need to work hard. The list of the changes to make is huge, but Ray won’t lose heart. This movie has some awesome special effects; they appear all over the film, in most of the scenes when Hancock arrives. Special effects are used any time Hancock flies, breaks cars or destroys buildings. During these scenes, we can see all small details, pieces of rock flying, walls falling or signboards breaking down into little fragment of iron. This proves that the special effects had been finalized by an expert in computers. Any time Hancock flies between the skyscrapers, this expert’s job is shown to the audience. Another aspect is observed in filmmaking, it is the costume design; even the costumes look normal, each of them support the character’s life. At the beginning of the movie, Hancock’ costume reflected someone who doesn’t care about himself or others and doesn’t have the sense of priority. Ray’s costume reflected an honest man who tries to do well in the business world to make changes in daily life. Mary’s costume reflected a serious housewife, who, unlike Hancock, has the sense of priority and family. My overall opinion about this movie is awesome. This movie is really nice, the scenario is pretty good, and even if there should be some little changes on it. I think that, at the beginning of the story, Hancock acts like he was an idiot; same for Mary, who acts like she was a very mean woman. Except for these little things, the movie was wonderful.

Positive parts in "Hancock!"
“Hancock” was based on a life of a superhero in our days. In the beginning Hancock was a simple alcoholic. Once he saved the life of a man that was a P.R. agent. Man thought that Hancock should become a better person. He wanted to help Hancock, so he said that he should go to jail for a while, so everyone started missing him. After a while, the police had problems with Crime. They needed help. It was Hancock’s time to come. Hancock arrived, and helped the police get rid of the bad guys. Suddenly Hancock understood that the P.R. agent’s wife also had powers like him… The Scenario in the movie was interesting and the media effects were amazing. Action in the movie was combined with music, beautifully. Some parts in the movie, when camera changed focuses quickly, looked creative. Landscapes were beautiful. Ending of the movie was interesting, aggressive, and unpredictable. I think every person should watch this movie at least once. Hancock is a pretty unique movie. It’s not like Spiderman, Ironman, or Hulk. Designers did a right thing that didn’t dress Hancock like Spiderman, it would look funny.

Sad But Good
I loved this movie, but it wasn't exactly Alice in Wonder land. There is some great real emotional actting in this movie from all of its characters. The plot line is about as fast as my heart rate always going up and down before you can blink its important that you pay attention throught the movie. Some real great action scences but some real emotionaly scaring moments. The swearing in this movie is pretty terrible in the begininning but relaxes into only slight to the middle. Great effects looks really...well real.Altogether the movie is very sad but touching and really suprises you!! I loved and suggest it for people 13+

Good movie, bad language...
VIOLENCE: A bit of it... Both a mans hands get cut off (first time not shown second time shown in a dark room(using an axe)). LANGUAGE: People are commonly call Hancock an a**-hole. COMMERCIALISM: I didn't notice any... SEXUAL CONTENT: Nothing that I noticed...

Sweet Movie
Really good movie, a few swears but nothing most kids 12 and over need to worry about. Good message about never giving up. A must see for any tween to teenager.

I recommend this movie for 13+,due to the language
OMG,I just saw it today with my whole family and i loved it but the language is salty/strong....but it's really funny and a bit sad when Hancock almost dead (sorry for the spoiler!) This is the best movie i've seen so far in 2008 and Will Smith did a excellent job on the acting!
