i really like it, because it has funny parts, action, and is easy for a kid to understand. it might not be good for kids though, because there is a few cuss words, and lots of insults about paul blart. it has a lot of consumerisum (rockband, victorias secret, dunkin donuts) the violence- criminals try to shoot and stab paul blart, and paul beats up a few of the gangsters. i think kids will like it because it is funny, but it is only OK to me

This movie is unbelievable!! My kids wanted to see this so I decided to let them . We all went to see it and left during the middle of it . It was very violent and language was horrible . He got very drunk in one part , he gets hit with a skateboard and falls through a tall window . I don't think it's a kids movie at all!! Sex was extreme too . Not even for adults .

You should preview this movie before letting your child see it.
This movie was fun for me and my husband to watch...but not my children. I made a bad parenting move by not checking out Common Sense Media before letting my 11 yr. old buy this movie today. As we watched it, I was mortified by the drinking scene. I didn't like the bad language and violence either but that she knows better about. The drinking was to me the worst part...my child is entering middle school. This is the age when they are very likely going to be confronted with this issue. I need positive role models who show my child that getting drunk is not fun or funny. This movie had the potential to be a great movie for tweens. You don't need the bad language and alcohol to make a movie funny. When is Hollywood going to get this?!

Awful awful awful movie!!!!!
Awful movie. Couldn't watch the whole thing. Bored and didn't laugh at all. My 10 yr old daughter did finish it but didn't laugh either. Was basically a toned down action movie for tweens. Made fun of fat people, had information about hypoglycemia all wrong and no laughs (well I chuckled once truth be told). Too much violence, too much insulting of fat people and boring!

Should Be PG-13
I went to go see this movie with my son who is 13 and we both thought it was a good movie with a nice moral at the end. However i felt it should've been PG-13 due to all the violence in it. There were also some sex jokes that didnt need to be there and the scene where he got drunk wasnt very funny. Better for older kids

You should think twice before going with your kids
This movie was VERY inappropriate I would NEVER take my kids to see it again! My 17 year old daughter was shaking in fear at all the violence. She had to run out of the theater in the middle of it because it was so scary. My 15 year old son was laughing at the beginning, but his laugh quickly turned to a scowl as he saw how bad the cop was treated and how there was an explosian trying to kill the cop. I bitterly regret taking my kids to see this movie and only mature adults should see it. I honestly think this movie should be rated R. Parents are CRAZY for taking their kids to see this movie!

Hilarious
This was a funny movie. It should be rated ten plus. There is a scene of victoria secret and a woman's blouse is lifted up and you can see her bra. There are a couple of words here and there but not that bad. Made my 10 year old laugh his head off and I do not regret taking him. You should definattely see this movie.

funniest movie I've seen in ages!
Consistantly funny and I really enjoyed it. I went out of the theater really liking it, not regretting I saw it. I guess I really needed a good laugh!
- I rate this title off for age 12 and give it
language very disappointing
I wish I would have checked before I took my 8 year old to see this movie!!! It was cute and funny, but had lots of "bad words" would not recommend for any one younger than 12!
- I rate this title on for age 5 and give it
Funny, but not interesting for kids under 5
The movie was very funny and Kevin James was loveable and hysterical, at times. As a mom in my late 30's I LOVED all the 80's music, but kids wouldn't "get it" and my youngest fell asleep because all the references basically went right over her head. But it was not inappropriate at all and my 7 year old laughed out loud many times, as did I. I didn't expect it to have a love story angle, but even that is kind of sweet.

Pretty good comedy!
My husband and I saw this movie and thought it was pretty cute! I enjoy movies with more dry humor and my husband enjoys more of the "Dumb & Dumber" type movies, but we both liked this one a lot. It has a great message of families "sticking together" and Kevin Jame's character is totally honest and upright; a good example for his daughter. I think it is a great family movie!
- I rate this title iffy for age 12 and give it
Not for younger kids and I found the cruel fat jokes..well cruel
Supposed to be a message film of acceptance and family love. My 11 year old thought it was painful and degrading. Not a lot of examples of positive human compassion being spread around. Lots of bad slapstick "comedy" around obesity (male and female) and hypoglycemia. Didn't really get a laugh out of me.
- I rate this title on for age 9 and give it
I find it average
sure take your kids watch so funny stuff and kevin james dance lol
I rate this title on for age 9 and give itExcellent! I never imagined it would be this good!
I couldn't believe how funny this movie was... Hilarious! It actually had substance, too! 4/5 stars, definitely! Very little language, although there is some drinking and a bit of sexuality. The violence is played for laughs, and isn't intense in the slightest. I reccomend this movie highly, and suggest it is appropriate for all children ages nine and older!

A Hilarious Comedy for the Family...
PAUL BLART: MALL COP seemed to me, from the trailer, horribly stupid and simple. It seemed like one of those films where the only funny parts were in the trailer. Well, it's not, and it's a great family comedy that will leave everyone in stitches. Language consists of several "a*s"s and one "go to hell". There are some mild innuendos, but no sex. There is the threat of violence and mention of "silencing" hostages and "putting a bullet in your head". Fortunately, all the on-screen violence is comic (pratfalls, stunts, etc.). This is a great movie, highlighted by the clever script and Kevin James's performance as Blart. He's a great guy; a hero you can root for, and his on-screen adventures come without much objectionable content.

More substance to the story then I expected
My husband, 8 year old son, and I saw this. It was funny, he's a decent guy who sticks by his family and puts himself at risk to save his daughter and a woman he likes. It does have violence, but creativity wins over violence. Some stuff went over my sons head but I shield him from violence and he was not overwhelmed by the violence.

great mix between action and comedy.
a good comedy, but not perfect. i didnt really know what to select so i just did off for 8. therenis a couple of shooting parts, and gangsters are beaten up, and a man is shot in the end. there is alot of language, including insults. there is a ton of consumiresem too (dunkin donuts, rockband, victorias secret) people drink beer once. people are really mean to paul, wich i think is bad messages.

Wow. some people are immature. my 7 year old cousins love this movie:) sure it has violence, but it is hilarious. and it has "consumerism" but it's not a commercial. it is not pushing the envelople at PG-13. who even says that? well. let your 8 and 9 year olds see it(:

PG COMEDY PUSHES THE ENVELOPE AIMING TOWARDS A PG-13
Paul Blert has it all: vilonce, sex, language, consumerism, and drinking, drugs, and smoking. But some of it is less intense then others. sex is somewhat strong because there is lots of talk about relationships, Paul abousily has a crush on a lady in the mall, and a lady i shown in her bra. Language?????? Is age apprpreat for a PG (barley). Consumerism wow!!! there is so much of that!!! Sense it's in a mall they show lots of stores and games that are sold in stores in real life. That kind of stuff can target kids attention... especially younger ones. Lastly drinking smoking and drugs. There is a lot of drinking infact Paul drinks so much that he gets very VERY drunk. Besides all this it is a very funny camedy! Some of these things actually make it funny! Ow wait!!!! i almost forgot VILONCE! The vilonce in this movie is a little strong for a PG movie theres some shuting, lots of fighting and over the top vilonce. So in my apinion this should have been rated PG-13. But still great movie!!

Paul Blart Saves My Day!
I absolutely adored this movie-and I'm sure you will, too. But some of the language might be out of line for younger kids. I said that this movie had good role models because Paul Blart saved a mall and still got his girl. It shows that you can do anything, even though many people teased him about his weight.

Great for kids, terrible for parents!
I am extremely strict about what movies my children watch. I was iffy about my 7 and 10 year old watching this movie. We watched it as a family and it wasn't bad at all. The kids really enjoyed it and laughed out loud. For adults, it is a horrible, boring movie.

Funny with occasional strong language
I thought that this movie was very funny. The drinking scene is not that bad. Paul just mistakes the alcoholic drink for lemonade. The language, I thought, was strong for a PG movie but very light for a PG-13 movie. Even my over-protective grandparent thought it was a funny movie! Definitely worth buying.
