What parents need to know

Parents need to know that the official site for the latest Twilight flick, New Moon, doesn't contain any content that fans of the books or movies haven't already seen. The site's main goal is to promote the movie and this is done with video clips, downloads and interactive information. The visually-driven site doesn't offer any room for fans to interact with each other, but there are links to popular fan sites. There are also plans for mobile content, so watch out for added cell phone charges when this feature goes live.

  • The overall message fosters a positive, fan-centric community and may inspire kids to read the books.
  • Video clips include some intense scenes, such as when Jasper lunges for Bella and when Bella is attacked by Laurent. These scenes are just short snippets, but might be too intense for younger siblings of Twilight fans.
  • Trailers include a few close-ups of Bella and Edward kissing, plus many scenes with a shirtless Jacob and his werewolf friends.
  • Not applicable.
  • The site is designed to be a promotion for the movie, so there are many instances where the film is marketed, such as a video interview with Taylor Lautner who says things like "New Moon is going to be stepped up a whole other notch...I think the fans are really gonna be happy." There is also a link to the official Twilight store on Amazon.
  • Not applicable.

Is it any good?

Whetting the appetite of vampire and werewolf fans all over the globe, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON - OFFICIAL MOVIE SITE, gives visitors a glimpse into the cinematic sequel to the original Twilight film. But hardcore Twilight fans might be feeling as unsatisfied as Bella on a date with Edward as the site merely teases with a few trailers and downloads. For those that missed the frenzy of the original vampiric romance movie, this site will catch you up on the basics. But Jacob fans fare best, as Edward takes a backseat on this site to the chest-barring Quelute werewolf.

Fine
Nothing offensive here, but Twilight fans will probably want to use in-depth fansites and not the dry official site.

as long as the kids now the difference between reality and fiction they will be good,
my kids watched the trailer and they cannot wait to watch the movie cause of the vamps and now it will be the wolves. I think it is a good family movie thus far. Red the books and come the 3rd movie it will be more of a watch then decide.
