Good for teens but may require some monitoring
As a member of twitter for over 2 years I've seen it grow and expand. While I view it as an adult and have various adult friends. It has no content filtering methods and one can easily run up a phone bill if notifications are sent to one's phone on a limited plan. With adequet preparation and monitoring a teen can have a lot of fun. There are numerous educational twitters, NASA Astronauts, Mythbusters, and celebrities abound.
