Each episode of WHAT WILL SHE DO NEXT? contains catchy tunes and features Broadway stars in order to introduce listeners to a notable woman in history. The podcast features short, musical biographies of women such as Dr. Mae Jemison (the first African-American woman to go to space), Mary Shelley (author of Frankenstein), and Frida Kahlo (notable Mexican artist and feminist). Episodes include a segment where the listener is invited to interact with the show by choosing from a multiple choice list of what they would do if they were in the same challenging situation as the subject of that episode. Host Gabrielle Mirabella narrates each woman's story and is joined by musical theater writer Ernie Bird who adds quirky sounds and music that bring the stories to life.

What Will She Do Next? is an excellent introduction to women in history, feminism, and themes of perseverance and compassion. Much like Hamilton mixes biography with different musical genres, this podcast uses original songs and theatrical elements to enhance each story.
Listeners should note that not every episode has lyrical songs and the format may be more suitable for younger audiences who are starting to learn about new people and perspectives. The podcast introduces a diverse array of women and is a great starting point for kids to learn about important women in history and how they fought to break and defy gender stereotypes.
