What Parents Need to Know

About Son of the Mask

Parents need to know that this movie has strong language for a PG ("Hell, no," "The crappiest piece of crap in crap-town"). There's a lot of comic violence, including hits to the crotch that are supposed to be funny. There's also some mild sexual material, including discussion of wanting (or not wanting) to have a baby, and the central plot point is based on Tonya getting pregnant while Tim is wearing the mask. Tonya jokes that she's going to make a baby with the neighbor. There's some vulgar humor, including potty jokes.

  • Families can talk about how parents decide when they are ready to have a baby. Why was it so important to Tim that he be someone his child would be proud of? The worst movie I have ever seen.

"Son of the Mask" is a dumb, distguisting mess of a movie. The sole reason the movie excists is to bank on the success of "The Mask" a far better film. Its a waste of time, talent, and money.

    My review

I personally liked the first Mask movie better, this movie was cheap, and the effects were horrible. The violance is preety scary for kids under 9, Tim is shown jumpping into bed when hes wearing the mask, and the sexual scene is heard for a few seconds. They kiss alot, and the language is colorful.

    More mask!!!!! I Demand a 3rd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While it may not be as good as the first one, I was still laughing at this movie!! but I am still tryig to see how it go a PG rating.... 1. similar to "The mask" this movie has alot of cartonish violence, but nothing worse than the first one. 2.Quite a bit of language including: C--p, H--l, D--n, and one S--t. 3.It is implied that a husband and wife made a baby while the husband was wearing the mask. so this movie is funny for those who have seen the first one, with is about the age you should be to see either whitch is 12.

    very stupid obnoxious movie.......

this movie was REALLY stupid...but my younger siblings(3,8, and 10) were entertained. this movie is appropriate, but would be hard for anyone over 10 to sit through.

not the greatest movie on earth....

It was okay but, kind of boring. Its a kid's movie, though, I didn't find any language bad ( crap, so what, watch me, crap, crap, CRAP!)I didn't like it, really but, maybe I liked it a tiny bit.......

    Too loud

This was an obnoxious film for me to watch, but my son loved it. He just liked watching all the stuff going on and the colors and action. There was always something going on, so it kept him entertained. I think though for adults, it's really really a long obnoxious movie.

    A fun lighthearted film!

This film was a solid, lighthearted, fun film, that works well with kids. Yeah, there's a wee bit of violence, but it's cartoon violence, so it's nothing that bad. Neither the plot nor the action are too complicated for a kid to follow, so they're definitely not going to get lost watching this movie. Overall, it's something the kids can enjoy!

    Just wrong.

This was the dumbest movie I've seen in a very long time. The rest of the movie goers in the theatre apparently agreed. No one laughed at the gags, and I overheard a child say to their parents, "Let's go home NOW!" Some others were crying as some scenes were abit frightning for kids. My 5 yr old son thought it was a hoot but he did ask about the violence in one part between a man and woman. I cringed in my seat when that happened, it simply wasn't necessary, just stupid, stupid stupid. Please save your money on this one. Watching your toilet flush would be alot more family friendly than this mess.
