What Parents Need to Know

About GaiaOnline

Parents need to know that while this site may attract young teens with its lively graphics, games, and opportunities to socialize with other kids, if you don't turn the filter on, adult language and topics are common. There's no doubt that your teen will stumble upon threads discussing "masturbation myths and fads" and "WTF moments" in a matter of minutes. The site also pushes kids to buy buy buy with their Gaia Gold virtual currency. The positive side of that is it teaches kids about money -- and to save up for something they like.

Gaia isn't as bad as these people claim

I have a Gaia Online and Forum assistants delete such things that talk about sex in the fourms alos they cant catch all them which is why memebers are inencaruaged to report Voilations of the TOS "Terms Of sevice" so befor you go and judge Gaia Online for being a innappropriate site why not get your facts sraight.

  2. I rate this title iffy for age 11 and give it 3.0
    My concerns are:
    • Inappropriate sexual content
    • Inappropriate language
    • Safety is an issue
    • User content isn't age appropriate

    ehhh

i don't really use gaia for this and yea. If i was you DON"T GO ON THE FORUMS!! I mean if you use it for like for selling your old things then it okay but some topics are just revolting. I mainly go on for Zomg anyways. Games are kinda fun puzzles, fishing, pinball. I don't like towns though since people using bad language and topics. I find gaia boring, same as every other website only in cartoon/manga/anime style. Only the game Zomg makes it unique and the manga they make.

I rate this title iffy for age 10 and give it 5.0
    My concerns are:
    • Excessive consumerism
    • Safety is an issue

    • My highlights are:
    • User content is age appropriate

It all depends on where you go; very addicting!

So if you do not chat in the forums, you are fine. Just use common sense for safety like you would for any other social networking site (do not give out personal information, passwords, etc.) There is plenty to do on the site, and it is pretty addicting!

I rate this title iffy for age 10 and give it 4.0

im a more mature 11 year old, so i think the site is ok for me...

i love it, even though im 11 years old. im more mature than most 11 year olds, so i think its fine.i mean, i watch the secret life of the american teenager, and im 11. what does that tell you??.......... that im a more mature 11 year old.gaia is ok for people 15 and up, but it can be age appropriate for even younger people if they are mature enough to handle it.
