The following statement was released by Common Sense founder and CEO James P. Steyer today in response to the tobacco industry’s false claims about Prop 56:
"Tobacco companies are up to their old tricks, attempting to mislead the public about Prop 56, an initiative that would save lives by protecting kids from unhealthy and addictive tobacco products. The good news is that voters see right through the industry’s tactics and will stand up for what is best for kids – something the industry is incapable of doing. The tobacco industry will spend endless resources trying to confuse voters, but the bottom line is that parents are their kids' best advocates and come November they will stand up for Prop 56 because it puts kids first.”
