SAN FRANCISCO, June 26, 2020—Common Sense Media today announced that it has launched a dedicated collection on the Apple TV app spotlighting Common Sense Selections, a group of movies and television shows that have the potential to entertain families, spark conversations, and have a positive, lasting effect on society. The collection can be found at apple.co/CommonSenseMedia.
The specially curated Common Sense Media collection for the Apple TV app focuses on movies and television shows that promote character strengths, such as integrity, compassion, empathy, curiosity, and teamwork, through relatable, inspirational characters and superlative storytelling. Families can also see selected titles organized by age group.
Through the Apple TV app, customers can easily find out where they can watch, rent, or buy movies and TV shows that have been designated as Common Sense Selections. Future selections will be chosen by Common Sense Media's experts and editors, and will feature timely themes that resonate with families. Customers can also find Common Sense Media ratings displayed on movie and TV show pages throughout the Apple TV app to quickly determine age-appropriate content for their kids and families.
"It's more important than ever for kids to have access to quality content, and to help families make informed decisions to find streaming content that works best for them," said Rhianwen Benner, vice president of business development at Common Sense. "Common Sense is delighted to collaborate with Apple to offer this unique and curated experience on the Apple TV app."
The Apple TV app brings together all the ways to watch shows and movies into one app and is available on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, select Samsung and LG smart TVs, and Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices. The Apple TV app will be available on Sony and Vizio smart TVs later this year. It features Apple TV+, Apple's new video subscription service offering original shows, movies, and documentaries from the world's most creative storytellers, as well as Apple TV channels, personalized and curated recommendations, and movies and TV shows to buy or rent.
