Jim Steyer, Common Sense CEO and Founder released the following statement in response to the Senate passing Medicare and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015:

"Providing children health insurance and in-home support for parents of infants and toddlers is a common sense, kid-partisan issue and I'm encouraged that Congress and President Obama did the right thing this week by re-authorizing those programs. Like most of us who believe that our kids should be a top priority for our country, I had hoped these programs would be extended for 4 years, not just 2 years. But the law is good for kids and their families who are struggling to make ends meet. There is much more Congress can and should do to make kids and their education a top priority for America and I look forward to helping them do just that."
