SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Common Sense Media Founder and CEO Jim Steyer released the following statement in response to Facebook’s changes to the advertisements on its network:
 
“This shows Facebook is not just a social network, it is a commercial ad network.  Facebook should not data-mine teens--and target them with ads—based on their activity on other sites and apps.  If Facebook believes that teens want targeted advertising so badly, they should let teens opt-in and not have to navigate some circuitous opt-out process.”
