Common Sense Kids Action Responds to House Vote on Health Care Bill
Statement from James P. Steyer, Founder and CEO of Common Sense
Common Sense Kids Action founder and CEO James P. Steyer released the following statement today in response to the House passing a bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act:
"The threat to kids' health care in America just got very real with the House passage of the bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Although the bill passed with the slimmest of margins, it now sets in place a process that could result in millions of children losing access to affordable health care, including children with pre-existing conditions and children who get their care through Medicaid. Common Sense believes that access to affordable and quality health care is a building block of opportunity to help ensure that all kids can thrive, and we strongly encourage the Senate to reject the House's misguided and dangerous bill and instead work to improve, not cut off, kids' access to health care."
