Common Sense Media Founder and CEO James P. Steyer issued the following statement on the introduction of three major bills in the Michigan State Legislature.

"Common Sense Media is deeply heartened by a package of kids' online safety legislation introduced in Michigan this week. We strongly support the three bills in this package and urge the legislature to act on them with haste. The lives of kids' in Michigan hang in the balance. We developed the LEAD Act originally in California and are glad to see it being promoted across the country. And the SAFE for Kids Act is a model that should be adopted in every state and one we strongly supported over the past two years. Michigan has a great opportunity to protect kids and their families from the real dangers of AI and social media and we look forward to lending our support to this new effort."
