SAN FRANCISCO, CA– President Anne Zehren announced today that Common Sense Media has entered a content distribution agreement with Yahoo! in which Common Sense Media's movie reviews and parenting tips will be prominently featured on the newly launched Yahoo! Kids Parents channel.

"Yahoo! has always excelled at helping people find the content and information they need quickly," Zehren said. "This distribution agreement underscores their commitment to helping parents sort through the huge amounts of media content now available to kids. With Common Sense Media's objective, non-partisan reviews and tips now available on Yahoo!, thousands upon thousands of parents will have easier access to the information they need to make the right media choices for their families. We're excited to add a company of such stature to our growing list of partners."

Based on childhood development criteria, Common Sense Media's ratings system helps parents make decisions about what television shows, movies, video games, books, music, and Web sites are right for their kids. Common Sense has business partnerships with some of today's leading media companies, including: three of the top four cable companies, Time Warner Cable, Comcast, and Cox; the largest media retailer in the country, Best Buy; and two of the most widely recognized new media brands, TiVo and Netflix.

"Kids today spend more time with media than they do in school or with their parents," Zehren said. "As the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the media environment for kids, our goal at Common Sense is to empower parents with the tools and information they need to help kids get the best -- and avoid the worst -- of media and entertainment. We can achieve that with great business partners like Yahoo!"
