Cox Communications and Common Sense Media Partner to Help Parents Make Informed Media Viewing Choices

ATLANTA and SAN FRANCISCO - Cox Communications and Common Sense Media today announced a new partnership to provide Cox customers with easy to access, point of decision reviews, ratings and program information designed to help parents make informed viewing choices about TV, movies, music, books, Web sites and video games. Cox will integrate Common Sense Media's extensive reviews, recommendations and media parent tips into its Take Charge! initiative including cable television and high speed Internet services.

Cox plans to launch a co-branded section on its Take Charge! Web site, Information will include movie reviews produced by Common Sense Media and media information as video spots which will be available in Cox's On DEMAND library. Additionally, Cox and Common Sense Media will conduct media literacy workshops for parents, caregivers and teachers in Cox communities.

Cox's partnership with Common Sense Media is an extension of Take Charge! Smart Choices for Your Cox Digital Home, an educational campaign developed by Cox to empower parents and care givers to manage their children's access to mass media content and the Internet. Launched in August 2004, the initiative strives to increase customer awareness and use of parental controls and filtering tools already available on their cable and Internet services.
