Statement on Open AI’s Unveiling of GPT-4

SAN FRANCISCO, March 14, 2023— OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, revealed GPT-4 today, the next generation of its artificial intelligence language model that is capable of solving difficult problems with greater accuracy. Jim Steyer, Founder and CEO of Common Sense Media, issued the following statement following the announcement

"It's time for a national dialogue around kids and AI. OpenAI's release of GPT-4 will introduce generative video to an entire generation. The consequences for kids, educators and families - both good and bad - have not been thoroughly considered. We must have a serious national discussion and some common sense safeguards that protect kids and schools. We can't let the tech industry go off the rails — the voices of parents must be heard first."
