Supreme Court Upholds Health Care Law, Preserving Benefits for Millions
Statement from Jim Steyer, Common Sense CEO and Founder
In a huge win for children and families, the Supreme Court just announced its decision in King v. Burwell, ruling in favor of the Affordable Care Act, sometimes called Obamacare. In a 6-3 decision, the court agreed that Obamacare's insurance subsidies can go to residents of any state, upholding the health care law and preserving benefits for millions of Americans.
Jim Steyer, CEO and founder of Common Sense released the following statement in response to the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the law:
"Great news, including for kids. At least 360,000 low-income children would have had their health insurance taken away if opponents of the Affordable Care Act had won this case. Now, we can move forward with making sure nearly every American family and their kids are covered. Huge win for kids and families today."
