Why is no one talking about how AMASING this trilogy is?! 0_0

This book. Is like good: For starters it was hilarious, like i genuinely laughed out load and was wriggling and giggling like mad because its just SO FUNNY! the plot is light and funny and VERY unpredictable and slightly fantastical ( alchemy, resurrections etc) and the characters have the most amazing arcs and growth its just so comforting and sweet and PRECIOUS i LOVED lil felicity the feminist (I APPRECIATE AN INTELLIGENT & YET STILL STEREOTYPICALLY FEMININE GIRL AS BEING PORTRAYED AS STRONG AND BRAVE WITHOUT BEING GIVEN UBERMASCULINE ATTRIBUTES) and i AM HERE FOR THE DIVERSITY ( IN TERMS OF RACE, GENDER, FAITH AND RELIGION AND SEXUALITY) IT IS ABOUT GODAMN TIME THAT YA ROMANCES BROADENED THEIR HORIZONS! this book is modern and forward and intriguing and genuinely just such a worthwhile book with such cute morals and IT HAS THAT WARM FUZZY AFTEREFFECT ✨ ❤️ its a litle cheecky and (t.w & spoiler warning) There is mention of henrys abusive father, his own drinking problems, general anxiety and a couple cheeky scenes End of spoiler All in all I HIGLY RECCOMEND U READ THIS SERIES IF UR LOOKING FOR A FUN YA/ROMANCE/ADVENTURE/FANTASY/VICTORIAN ISH MODERNISH/PROGRESSIVE/FEMINISTY/DIVERSE SERIES :)

AMAZING

I loved this book so much. Monty is my absolute favorite character of all time. I read this when I was 11 and it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle. I think any middle schooler should be able to read this. Nothing was too graphic or explicit. The main character of the book does drink a lot. Kids should be able to read whatever they want, there going to learn it later anyways. Just be glad there reading instead of sitting on their phones all day!

entertaining and romantic

I loved this book. It had it all—dry humor, scandalous characters, sympathetic pirates, and plenty of forbidden romance. I appreciated the not-so-subtle bisexual representation, and absolutely adored Felicity. I recommend this for 14+ because of some scenes where Monty either describes and/or says something suggestive (which happens more often than you’d think), mentions of excessive drinking habits, and a few times when Monty and Percy have a make-out session. Nothing explicit happens in this book, but sex is definitely not something the characters and author shy away from. This is a good book I’d recommend to any teen looking for something new to read.

Would be very nice for even a mature 12 yr-old

Wow. This was an... amazing book. Placed in the 1700's we follow 18 year old Henry "Monty" Montague on a (practically really big road trip) tour out of England and into unknown waters, but when Monty makes a mistake suddenly their running for their lives across Europe to solve a mystery. Dabbled in is romance, witty sass, and unexpected disease. There are a couple things that should be mentioned: ->Our 'dashing' hero Monty is... -Bisexual (This is a accurate representation of the queer community. It has a Stonewall award.) -Very enthusiastic about sex with both genders -Very likely an alcoholic -Has a lot of character growth ->Besides those their is traces of... -Racism -Sexism -Physical and Emotional Abuse -Sex -Gambling -Alcohol -Smoking -Disease and mental disorders ->And the positive things are... -Great character growth -Accurate representation of inequality -Historically accurate -Amazing descriptions of characters feelings -Amazing romance. -Sucks you in immensely. I haven't been this happy and gooey since I read Red, White, and Royal Blue ('specially about the romance.) The Gentleman Guide to Vice and Virtue is an adventure, a romance, a mystery, and a learning experience all in one. Gawd I hope this isn't too long :

Amazing

This is only book I’ve ever read about gays in the 1700s. This book was so good and if I could whip my memory just to read this book for the first time again I would.

The gentleman’s guide to vice and virtue by Mackenzie Lee (Spoiler free)

Okay when I first heard about this I’m not gonna to lie when I say I was ecstatic! I mean a bi sexual teen protagonist that escapades around Europe in the 1700s with his crush and sister?! It can’t get much better than that. This has easily become my second favourite book after Harry Potter for many reasons. First, incredible characters. I mean incredible. The depth and character that they portrayed made it so enjoyable to read. If you want a novel that has great role models but also not so great role models that evolve over the story, then this is the one for you. It also has an amazing female main character, that is the protagonist in ‘The lady’s guide to petticoats and piracy’, which is defiantly on my list of books to read next. Second, the Realness! I immensely dislike novels that are set in past errors, but this was absolutely amazing and the novel being set in the early 1700s is one of the reasons the book was so good. Third but most important, the Romance... THE ROMANCE!!!! Okay sorry to go full capital on you but the connection and friendship between Monty and Percy is the sweetest most heart wrenching thing I have read since Gossip Girl. As this is a no spoilers review I will not go no further, but all I will say is you are about to go on a roller coaster my friend, of friendship, betrayal, disappointment, discovery, acceptance, neglect, anger but most importantly love! For parents/Curious people This book does include a generous amount of sexual content. It includes 2 same sex make out scenes that are described in some detail. It also involves a game of strip poker which leads to undressing. Monty the protagonist also thinks about and admires both woman and men. There also might be a teensy bit of streaking. But I think that is your child is mature and can deal with such content it would be a great read. I am personally 14 and found no trouble with it. This book also includes drinking and thoughts of alcohol and cigars. Monty thinks about drinking and how he wishes for one in times of need. He also prides himself on his alcohol tolerance. This book also includes epilepsy, a medical condition. The way it is talked about is mostly sympathy/understanding but there is also talk of how people did not understand and thought it was caused by a person getting possessed by demons. But in the end the most important people accept the character for who they are and don’t think they need to be cured to be happy and live a fulfilling life. One last thing is this book does include quite a few racist comments, as well as racist actions and slavery. Percy, one of the main characters is black and this book shows how people back then of colour had to deal with this abuse and mistreatment. It truely is a beautiful book and covers some incredible topics such as, sexuality, racism, epilepsy and strong female characters. I promise you will not be disappointed. Happy reading :) Ps : Also if you love this novel as much as I think you will there is a sequel coming out 26.11.19 called ‘The gentleman’s guide to getting lucky’!!!!
