A Great Tween Book

This book is ready good! I suggest this book for 8-14 year olds but I honestly think anyone could read it. It is funny, and a good mystery book. It has lots of twists in it and it kept me guarding till the end. It does have one not nice word, the p word if you are at a younger age then your parent should read it first because there are a few mature scenes of violence. It is barley that violet but if you are 6 or younger I don't recommend, but aside from that this book is good for all tweens!

A wonderful and suspenseful must read; however, has some mature topics

I was just walking through the J Mystery section in the library one day and found this book, and I am not one to pass up a great mystery to read. I enjoyed this book very much. Kristen Kittscher uses a writing style that is sure to keep readers hooked. However, some of the violence and scariness in the book might be just a tad bit too mature or scary for kids 8 or under, which is the recommended CSM age for this book. I would give a violence and scariness a 2 or 3 out of 5 rating because: In one scene, the protagonists are threatened by an adult with a gun. The books describes shots but there are no injuries. There is talk about a high school swim team electrocution, which killed 8 students. An adult repeatedly dunks one of the characters who has a fear of water underwater, and that adult gets kicked in the head by another character. So parents, I’m giving my warning. But those who can get past those details will enjoy this suspenseful, well-written, and baffling mystery and appreciate it as well. After I finish writing this review I’m going to put the sequel on hold at the public library.
