Very good, for mature readers

Very great book. Very sad and there is swearing and some sexual references. There are words like f---. A women attemts to seduce a teen. Some references to how a teen is scared to have sex. Some mentions to masturbation.

Beautiful writing with great suspense

If you could choose to know when you will die, would you? They Both Die in the End by Adam Silvera masterfully addresses this tough question. This book came out in 2017 and is the first book in what is anticipated to be an anthology series. Our story takes place in a world where a person is notified when they will die in the next 24 hours, but not exactly how they will die. In this world, there is an app called Last Friend where people who are about to die can meet up and spend their last day with someone. Two very different teens, Rufus and Mateo, 'lives get turned upside down when they get the call notifying them of their future deaths. Luckily, they found each other on this app, and what follows is just how they live out their final hours together as they quickly become best friends, or even more. This book has very endearing characters and it really leaves the reader wanting more from them. Silvera did an amazing job at making whoever reads this book feel like they know these people, even though they are being observed in such a short amount of time and in a very extreme situation. The arcs of each respective character felt very quick, but it does make sense for the situation they are in. Silvera manages to handle such a bleak and depressing topic, while still maintaining a rather light tone most of the way through. I highly recommend this book, however, do not expect a happy ending. I made the mistake of expecting anything different from what the title might suggest, even though the book is very transparent with the reader. My overall rating is a high 4.5. The only reason it isn’t a whole 5 is because I am heartbroken that there is no chance for a sequel featuring the main character’s dynamic.

Great Writting But Shouldn't be For The Younger Age Group

it thought it was very good but should not be good for younger ones because one of them is siciduul and that's not a good message for children.

you never know what is going to happen next

This book had me on my toes the entire time. You never know what is going to happen next. It was thrilling and very interesting. It has some swearing in it and there were some sort of "graphic" scenes, but I think this is a good read for a highschooler.

its 430 am and i dont want to go into much detail

great book, but the romance had very little background. some sad elements. mentions of ykw and being a teenage mom so super religious ppl might hate that. but beleive me, coming from an 11yo, 10yos have seen much worse :) also this sounds so strange but the highlight of the book were the acknowledgements. just saying.

This book is amazing

This book is seriously amazing. Even though you know the ending from the beginning, you can’t help but be surprised about what happens. But the events are not the highlight of this book in my opinion: it’s the connections that are made between the characters and their friends. To all the parents that wonder if this is appropriate, the entire book is surrounding the concept of death, but it puts death in such a different perspective and it’s a great reminder to make the most of your life. And even though there is some suggestive material it is for sure not the worst there could be. And for those wondering if the hype for this book is accurate, I think everyone can find a way to connect to this book some way or another. I just finished reading this book as a 15 year old that is just starting to read YA, and I think that this book is a great place to start if your parents or guardians are concerned about appropriateness.

Okay if you want to sit down and burn some time.

The book was okay but definitely had weak spots. Some points of the book I had to keep my eyes open it was so boring. Has a few sexual references but other than that it’s fine.
