It was okay

It was an interesting book but the ending was rushed and the problems didn’t get solved. The incorporation of politics in to this book wasn’t done very well. The mentions of suicide were really intense and the main character met up with a stranger.

A Heart-Wrenching Tale

In "You Say it First", Katie Cotugno does a great job of weaving two complex character's lives across party lines. I really enjoyed seeing the growth of the two protagonists Colby and Meg. They are both so truly flawed and struggling with their own perils which adds to the overall realism of the story. They find each other as the safe haven where they can be themselves without worry or fear of judgement. I really loved this novel! Trigger Warning: Colby's dad committed suicide - the one year anniversary is remembered in the book (somewhat detailed description) , Meg's mom is an alcoholic. However, she receives rehab treatment and is going through the healing process.
