Danger! The game is not worth the trouble.
Battlestar Galactica online isn't a game for any age group. I played the game for 3 very concentrated years, and during those years I lost and needed to buy four new home computers. Since I have stopped playing BSGO, and any other game based on the Unity game system, I have not had any computer problems.
Besides the personal hardware costs which I suspect stem from just playing the game, the game itself is exhorbitantly expensive.
The main problem for children will be communicating with the other players. It can be a frightening prospect for adults as well. The players of the game have a tendency to get very excited and use foul language and at the very least to be not nice or friendly at all.
Finally, the game is rife with hackers who seem more bent on intruding upon other player's computers than playing the game, which is the reason I suspect is the primary reason for losing so many computers.
