Definitely not for kids

Fun game overall, with good combat and and a mildly interesting story but as the title of this review said, definitely not for kids under 17. Stylized violence and extreme gore include hearts being ripped out and people being chopped into little bits. while the action isn't especially bloody the designers put great detail to the organs being sliced into, and showing plenty of organs meant to stay inside the body, not outside.

Awesome MG game with unique, stylized action and incredible graphics. However, the extreme violence and profanity use makes it a game for mature players.

Metal Gear Rising : Revengeance is about the war between the Patriots - which Raiden gets an awesome new cyborg look including a high frequency blade, which can almost literally cut through any substance. The enemies are the Desperado, which are power-hungry cyborgs who kill and destroy for pleasure in an effort to create a new "utopia", since they believe the economy will create a new revolution. The violence is incredibly stylized and contains very graphic blood and gore - where you can cut enemies (any part of their body) in slow motion and see their insides while you continue hacking and slashing. Profanity is also a big concern - plenty of uses of the word f**k, sh*t, son of a b**ch, d**n and h*ll. There are some sexual themes an dialogue, mostly where Raiden meets Mistral - one of the Desperado captains (although no nudity is shown). People 17 and older should be fine playing this game. The story gameplay is surprisingly short and the villain's intentions are highly predictable, but the enemy and boss designs are incredibly detailed, and the controls (killing maneuvers) are very exciting to perform.

Secret content

I agree with everything Marc Saltzman said in his review; however, he forgot to mention that there are secret posters of pin-up girls in bikinis throughout the game and you can slice clothes off of hostages you rescue. Love the game, but its just not meant for kids.
