Fun cartoon action and puzzles

Legend of Zelda the wind waker is a great game for kids and adults 8 and up. Has cartoon pirates and swords. No blood and no bad words. One cutscene has one character get stabbed in the head that may be too scary for young kids but has no blood. The second half of the game may be too hard for young kids to play. Overall a great game

Colourful and Cartoony

This Zelda title is super cartoony and fun to play, it’s very bright and Link is pretty funny and silly from time to time with all the faces. Even though I am not as childish as I am now, it’s still fun to just get myself lost in the game for hours and hours, and there’s some extra stuff to do too. It’s hardly very violent or scary, perhaps when you encounter a re-dead, but they’re still extremely cartoony and can only give a few chills when you hear an unfitting shriek that they call out. That’s only on a few occasions and you never have to see them again - but with the cel-shaded style, they are not what I call scary. When you defeat the final boss at the end, it’s a gruesome stab to the head so you should be old enough first so you don’t go copying everything Link does. It’s really fun to play and I like the ‘kiddy’ style and it is worth your time playing.

Gamecube is the best

I own this on my Gamecube, not Wii U. Many people underrated Wind Waker for its cell shaded graphics. I loved the graphics, the story and the physics. Must Buy for Fans and Noobs of Zelda

should be lower

I think the wind waker HD should be 8+ because the graphics are more kid-friendly than other the legend of zelda games, at least I will say 2 years lower than breath of the wild. It should be 8+. why does common sense say its 12+ or 10+ in all of the legend of zelda games?!! some of them are E+

The single best Zelda game ever!

This was my introduction to the Zelda series, and man it is a great game. It is not that scary aside from a ghost ship filled with redeads and stalfos (zombies and skeletons) that freaked me out when I was a kid. But that is just a small part at the end of the game. Link is such a likable goof of a protagonist and his journey is admirable. Buy it if you can.

Too much glitches, teens only.

This game has a ton of glitches such as fall damage which takes away too little hearts (only a quarter or a half) and getting hit by a spinner which is also too little damage. (a quarter heart) It has frequent violence which distorts the music when battling a monster. One of the scenes is where Ganondorf crunches Tetra's body, and she falls unconscious. That is really strange. Maybe the scene is a bit more dodgy than the ESRB said, but that is insane. Violence: 4/5

The Best Zelda Game

Appropriate for younger kids, but gameplay may be too complicated for kids under 11.

Really great game!!!

This was the zelda game that got me into the entire zelda series. I absolutely LOVE this game with my entire heart and I really want everybody to experience it. The reason I gave it 9 and up is because younger ones might not be able to get through it. It can be pretty challenging at times and if you don't have a game guide you can get confused in the dungeons. My younger sister used to just "role play" on outset island (the starting island) because she thought the real game was too hard. Also it can be a little stressful trying to fight enemies while you're on a boat (which is why I always tried to postpone and avoid sailing at all costs) Some of the enemies can seems slightly creepy (Redeads) but on the whole its not really scary. I really enjoyed this game and it was a great game to get me into the series.

Amazing, In my opinion and fun.

The Legend of Zelda, being my favorite game series of all time since I first played Breath of The Wild, got me into classic/retro gaming. With the GameCube, WindWaker was a turn from the dark Majora's Mask. I've sunken HOURS into this game and can tell you that kids would love it. It can get difficult to manage at times, which is why the Wii U version in my opinion is better than the GameCube.
