Great game with drawbacks

I liked this game and its map and the increasingly difficult puzzles. Some notes however I get the ending has a message that there doesn't have to be a big answer to everything but I feel it's a bit unfair the fact you just get 500 puzzles dumped on you only for it to end with you just having a fly around the island back to the start and forcefully start a new game, I realised the meaning after but at first it is highly unsatisfying for one to go through the troubles of the game and reach such an anti climactic ending. I love the way that it thinks way outside of the box though, would've rated it 5 stars but in my opinion the developer decided to bring a deep meaning to a place that doesn't really work with deep meanings without getting one to be annoyed by the ending and its meaning. All and all great game with a few things to note

Wit-Full Product

This game is not just drawing lines on screens; far from it. The panels will seep their way outside of their electrical confines, and into your mind.

An awesome game

This game is really tough, and really easy at the same time. The puzzles are all around a beautiful island, which players may explore freely

An infuriating, brain-wracking, masterful puzzle game.

The Witness is a masterful puzzle adventure that deals with big, philosophical ideas. The whole game revolves around you, the main and only character, solving seemingly simple line puzzles. There are also some audio logs that you can listen too but these are rare and not the main gameplay loop. The puzzles are deviously complicated and infuriatingly difficult. I made and filled a whole notebook with possible solutions. The game masterfully teaches you new techniques and ways of solving these puzzles. It's like learning a whole new language. The many puzzles are sitting around an expansive island that is free for you to explore. The island is separated into distinct environments like deserts and forests. The main aim of the game is to solve all the puzzles in the respective areas which in turn, switch on lights that beam up to the centre of the island, a huge mountain. The game also looks stunningly beautiful, with crisp and defined textures. All in all, The Witness is a masterpiece that requires dedication and an open mind. There is no inappropriate messages or themes but the game is extremely difficult to solve and understand.
