Probably the greatest dark comedy/dystopian film ever, but for older teens only
After literal years of waiting, I finally got to see the movie "Brazil" after getting the Criterion Blu-ray edition of it on my 16th birthday, and I have to admit, that or 15 is probably the best minimum age to watch it. There are LOTS of extremely loud/hectic moments (terrorist bombs frequently blow up buildings with some graphically bloody results, fully armed and covered policemen smash their way into people's houses) that make it way too much for kids, though even those scenes start to look pretty tame compared to how disturbing the film gets towards the end (a man is brutally shot in the head with the massive hole visible and blood getting on the camera, a rotting corpse falls out of a casket along with its body parts and entrails). On top of all that, there's also a sexually suggestive scene with breasts visible, and the word "s--t" is frequently used (only one f-bomb is deployed, though, which is pretty amusing given the R rating). However, none of these things are really that gratuitous, and mostly serve to further the plot or make a point about how ridiculously awful totalitarianism is. Overall, though, while the film is a simply fantastic black comedy that is very highly recommended for all film school students, I'd say either "know your kid" or wait until they're just a bit older before letting them watch it. Besides, they might not like it just yet anyway, and could very well find it too boring or confusing to really hold their interest for that long. My MPAA rating: R for some violence and gruesome images.

Really weird
The violence is nothing should be PG-13. A little bit of language S-word F-word. Your kids may not like it though cause it's really complicated and weird.
