Left Me In Dead Silence!

This Movie Is About A Childhood "Urban Legend" Of Mary Shaw, If You Scream When You See Here She'll Cut Your Tongue Out. After His Wife Is Found Dead In Their Apartment, Jamie Becomes A Prime Suspect. But As He Begins To Uncover The Truth Of Mary Shaw, He Becomes Suspicious Of The Ventriloquist Dummy Left At Their Door. This Movie Doesn't Have Much Graphic Nature, Besides The Scenes Of Characters With Their Tongues Ripped Out. Nothing Profane. Lots Of Jump Scares, Good Storyline For Teens And Tweens. I Would Recommend!

Great horror flick

I think dead silence is a great horror film. It had intense jump scares and scary elements all through the movie and it had a good plot twist at the end.

Dead Silence Review

This film is brilliantly done! It is high quality and very scary. Billy the doll is probably the most intriguing character for me because of how eerie he is. You never feel safe with him. I like how the directors took this movie seriously making evil look very real, and showing audiences that it is not something to mess with. This film was refreshing in the sense that it delivered a very frightening presentation focusing on the actual purpose/mission of the film rather than taking viewers on unnecessary sexual tangents. This movie could have easily been PG-13 because of the lack of sex and nudity (which I really appreciate). The language is very mild and there is one moment where the Probation Officer says: "What the Ffff..." but doesn't finish the word. The theme song is very catchy and will entertain you throughout the movie. I thought the film had a lot of taste and suspense with including most everything that frightens people (clowns, dolls, step-mothers etc). If you are tired of cheesy movies that cause you to sleep rather than give you the creeps, you might want to give this one a try. It has strong moments which really get your attention. Some of my most favorite parts include Jamie burring the doll at the cemetery; Jamie asleep in the Raven's Fair apartment and seeing Mary Shaw through the curtains in the red light; going to the opera house theater and the dolls coming to life and talking to the evil clown; getting chased by Mary Shaw herself down the opera hallway. I don't support the SAW films, but really enjoyed this one and find it very intriguing and dark. I would recommend this perfect for the Halloween holiday and give this one a 5/5!

It was pretty good, not too scary

This movie was really good, and not as scary as some other horror movies. Not that gory, but shows some blood. The dummies and dolls are scary, cause they can move, and like pop out of nowhere. My two older kids loved it, I thought that it was okay. The scene with the pipe in the guy's back instead of a spine was probably the most frightening scene

Dull, tiring horror film.

Better than the disastrous "Saw" films, with some suspense, but the problem lies with the fact that Wan is an awful director with a strange syle, and that Whannel can't write a proper script. Neither person knows how to generate suspense, so the film is unable to scare people. Some lines of dialogue are halarious: when Jamie jumps into his car and drives away, the policeman cries "I don't even have a full tank of gas!" The comedy just destroys what little atmosphere that the filmakers tried to create. This film is not unwatchable, yet really far from perfect.

Great Movie

I really enjoyed this movie, as did my teenage daughter. No swearing, nudity, or sex. The movie is violent, but most of the violence is done by "supernatural" forces and is payback for the vigilante violence that is seen in the beginning of the flick. I thought it was great, very scary, and could have well been rated PG-13.

One of the milder.

Other than a few intense images, it didn't warrant an R rating.
