Dear Zoe is a great drama for older teens and adults with some more mature themes.

Story 5/5. The storyline and plot was great. It was set up so well with the main character dealing with the trauma of the after effects of her younger sister Zoe being hit by a car and dying. It shows how Tess, the main character, is dealing with grief and trauma and thinks that she is responsible for Zoe's death. Positive message 2 out of 5. Themes of family, love, grief, guilt, resilience, and second chances are showed. Positive role model 2 out of 5. A father who alway there for his daughter. Violence 2 out of 5. Brief images of TV coverage of the Twin Towers burning on 9/11. Off camera a small child is struck and killed by a car; the plot follows the emotional distress of the loss. Language 3 and ½ out of 5:The language can get strong sometimes with God D**n,A*s,A*s-hole,S**t,oh my god,Jesuse, hell,D**k and B***h. Sexs 2 out of 5: two scene sex is implied, one scene the main character dosen’t have a skirt on but is covered by a sheet so nothing graphic. 2 scene a boy has his shirt off and kissing the main character. Drinking and smoking and drugs 3 and ½ out of 5.A teen smokes and tries to encourage his girlfriend to do the same.(she doesn't.) A character sells drugs. Drug overdose.Underage drinking with parents permission. Good movies for older teens.
