GREAT movie. Whole family enjoyed it.

I was very excited to watch this movie…husband and teen/tween boys not so much. Turns out they really enjoyed it! It was made very well and was not cheesy or corny. We all thought it was a good movie. It got a 1 for diverse representation which I think reflects in the amount of starts it is receiving which bothers me. It has 2 out of 5 stars and should have 5 out of 5! The movie is based on a true story which happens to be about a white family so the main characters are all white to represent the true story. I have a niece and nephew who were adopted so I was also watching it through their eyes as well. This movie was perfectly made with all viewers in mind. I did shed some tears but I usually do. Lol. We all had a bunch of laughs too! Looking back It was so refreshing to be able to watch this movie because it didn’t have cursing or sexual content. It is definitely a movie worthy of your time.

I appreciated seeing the different points of views of how adoption affects the child, the birth parents, adoptive parents and seeing how it reaches even further. Every one has their own unique experience. I watched my adoptive sister go through a very similar process as this of meeting her biological mother and half siblings. It was not all rosy but so very healing nonetheless and I am so grateful to have her in my life and have never seen her as anything but my own sister.

Moving story of love and family

Great movie with a heavy theme but focus on family, love, sacrifice. As an adoptive parent (multiple times) I was very moved by the movie and especially appreciated the perspective given to birthmom. There were definitely elements that I think could have been done better in portraying the adoptive parents, but that's just coming from someone very familiar with adoption. I think it's a great story for all whether adoption is part of your story or not. Beautifully done.

Fantastic Film!

This movie is fantastic! The “two star” rating is junk! You really can’t go wrong with a Kendrick Brothers film. You take a true story; the Kendrick Brothers; a Pro-life film, and you put it all together for great content! If you watch the “Behind the Scenes” you will love the movie even more! (One teaser- skip if you don’t want to see) The real life biological mom, is the “nurse” that takes the baby from the biological mom and gives the baby to the adopting parents. The “attorney” in the room, he IS the real person (David) that this whole movie is based on. There’s no swearing, No blasphemy. No drugs/alcohol. There is “adult” content- such as talking about abortion- but it’s not overly graphic if that’s something you already talk to your children about. Also adult content of a child being produced outside of wedlock and the dad wanting an abortion but then later agreeing to adoption. But it’s not sexualized- you just know she’s pregnant. I absolutely love that about the Kendrick Brothers and Kirk Cameron- they refuse to kiss anyone other than their real wives. So you know If you watch one of their films, it’s going to be wholesome. (The ending scene in “Fireproof”, that’s Kirk Cameron’s actual wife. They didn’t use an actress for the kissing scene). The movie ends showing the real people in photographs and videos and I love that part! So much of the film is exactly how the true-life events were shown in the original documentary, which I believe is titled, “I lived on Parker Avenue” Must watch film!!! My children love this movie. There is a lot of comedy throughout the movie that keeps them entertained.
