Parental guidance however ok for kids who love horror

I took my 9 year old to see this he is very mature for his age and loves scary movies , I’m an over protective mom and it’s hard to find horror movies he can enjoy with out adult sex scenes. This was great more funny than scary and zero nudity or sexual content a good movie for family’s that love scary movies I was very worried before letting him see it and honestly wasn’t bad for kiddos that have seen other horror movies

I love this movie! Kinda intense

So, I took my 11yo to see M3GAN, she really liked it! She has a 10yo cousin and we took her with us. She liked it too (thank god). There is a little bit of swearing, which doesn't bother my kids and they aren't disturbed by violence, so 10+ is good! P.S: If you have a child under 10, please watch the movie WITH them, thank you! :)

Child may find themes disturbing

I just watched this with my 12 year old daughter. She has become interested in horror, but she doesn't like seeing people killed - she turns away for that. There was a fair amount of bad language and realistic violence in this movie, including the very real way in which Cady, a central character, loses her parents in the first scene. My daughter thinks this film should be rated 14+.(and I think it's interesting here that many kids are setting a higher age rating than the adults.) My daughter mostly enjoyed the movie, up until the end. She says she wanted M3gan to be fixed so she and Cady could be together. Simply put, she resented the implication that devices are not healthy alternatives to human relationships. I appreciate that she heard otherwise, but I can't say I particularly enjoyed this movie or would recommend it. There are plot holes galore, and I saw all every major plot point coming, including the ending. Meh.

Overall, a good teen horror film

Language, on the whole, wasn't bad - except for one f-word that was used to illustrate one character's persona. The violence is concentrated in a small number of sequences. Most is off-screen. The movie actually contained a lot more story value than I expected. It portrayed the difficulty of a child adjusting to life without her parents very well, as well as the difficulty on an unexpected guardian for that child. Aside from the feasibility of a doll becoming self-aware and killing, the rest of the plot was still a bit contrived. But overall, I thought it was a great teen horror film. If your young teen is interested in horror but you're not keen on The Exorcist or The Ring, then this was a great middle ground.

Very well-executed film, but not for the youngest.

This film is not for young kids, but it is okay for young teens and up. It is a very interesting and thought-provoking film, and it makes you think twice about whether it is a good thing to have artificial intelligence that is independent of any and all human services, for two reasons: what this kind of convenience can do to the human mind and what the machine is capable of. I really admire that this horror film is actually smart and could also be placed in the science fiction genre. Not only is M3GAN technological and the programming required to make such a contraption goes beyond the technology we have today, but it deals with how children and their addiction to new and modern technology. After her parents’ deaths, Katie saw M3GAN as her comfort item and soon after having M3GAN, she can’t live without her. The film also shows the business side of this new toy, and how it could make so much money if the sales pitch goes well, along with having commercials of the current and popular toys in the market today. It is also clever that M3GAN was played by two actors: one who did the blocking and the other who provided the voice. When hitting the credits, the audience is given a lot to think about, some things mentioned above and so much more. This film was not disappointing. It was suspenseful and very well-executed.
