If you are reading this, your child is probably an anime fanatic. As a parent of two, one of which is an anime fan, I can honestly say i recommend this anime. For parents and teens alike. It does deal with messages more mature, such as loss and coping with it. Those messages get more serious and emotional as you move on to After Story (a continuation of Clannad into several years after the graduation). As for sexuality and violence, other than a few jokes here and there neither present a serious problem and I wouldn't say that this can be seen as a bad influence on any part. I myself enjoyed it wholly. If you wish you can watch it with your child and decide for yourself.
