Leave it to Beaver- Behind the Scenes

Leave it to beaver is a wonderful show for any level to watch, but it is best understood by 5 and up. The children are very respectful to their parents, and the Mom and Dad try their best to raise good sons. June Cleaver is a beautiful, and feminine woman, a loving mother and a good wife. She is a perfect role model. What more could you ask from her? Yes, just like everyone else she does make mistakes, and if they seem rare, keep in mind that this is a show mainly about the children. Ward Cleaver also does his best as a loving parent and husband. The male characters in the clever family are not really putting down women. What messy boy sees a neat girl as anything else but silly? Men and women both like to prove that they are as good or better than the opposite sex. Also, it was common for neither the men or women in the 1950's to want the other to do their traditional jobs. They both wanted something only they were good at, and if you listen to Rosemary Clooney's song, ''A Man,(Uh huh)" you'll hear this line about men, "He knows all the methods of landing a fish, but still can't be trusted at drying a dish." While today girls can choose to do any job, absolutely nothing is wrong for them to be exposed to the traditional job of women. Note about the garbage job: While every job to keep are country going IS important, what good parent's greatest ambition is to have their kid be the garbage collector? Besides, the line is meant to be funny, a little boy dreaming of growing up to be a trash truck driver, some things just not meant to be taken so seriously.

Great

This is such a great show. The lessons are great and can still be applied today. There is no language except giving someone the business and clobber. Wally and Beaver, in later seasons, date but nothing inappropriate. Not even a kiss. Such a good show. I definitely recommend.

A Good Classic '50s TV Show

Though it's not very appealing and kind of boring to kids today, it is a fairly decent show. Yes, it's very outdated and cliché and stereotypical, but it did take place in the '50s, so, yeah. It has good messages and role models. I think Beaver is a pretty cute little kid, and Wally is an excellent big brother. The boys will get in trouble in some sort of way, but they always learn a lesson at the end of the episode. I may be 14 and a teenager in the 2000s, but I do like watching this show. :)

Leave It to Beaver

RSKKZ Rating: G for nothing objective. What Rodni Says: Before I say anything, this show is appropriate for anyone to watch. This show is funny, not always on purpose (the Eddie Haskell episodes are the best), but I sometimes laugh at the innocence of the show! I often make jokes about Leave It to Beaver because it is so dated and innocent! If you give this show a try, you'll be laughing at it's innocence!
