Watch it before you let your kids watch it

The show is interesting and fun to watch but I am disappointed that Common Sense only gave it one star for sex. The first three episodes are fine but then it gets too sexy for kids under 13, maybe even older. There are several scenes with couples coming out of the bedroom wearing little and clearly had sex. There is mention of a morning-after breakfast and lots of passionate kissing. It’s disappointing that sexy has to be included. My kids love the movies. Every family has different thresholds for what is acceptable. I encourage you to watch it before you let your kids watch it.

Too Sensual For Younger Kids

My 11 yo daughter loved the National Treasure movies and was beyond excited when this series released. The storyline is intriguing and she enjoys Jesse’s backstory. Started out ok, but this series is definitely for a teen audience per the rating. We are now fast forwarding through the scenes that show the group of friends. Overly dramatic kisses, girls walking around in tshirts coming out of a bedroom, implied hookups/sleeping over with guys on a whim! Not sure we will be able to continue this one!

Good with or without Nick Cage, bit of language

Show is great, full of positive female role models for young girls who love the series. It has great messages and a great treasure hunt. It’s great with or without Nicholas Cage. I did hear a bit of language: two uses of “what the hell,” and two of “bitch,” in a Lady Gaga song. One use of “ass," and "dammit," ("dammit," said quietly). In the finale, “damn,” and “bada--.” Came to a good, poignant end. Hopeful for season 2.

Too violent

Too much violence and it increases as the season progresses. Our 10yo son loves the treasure hunt and solving puzzle ideas. We love the diversity. But he was upset by episode 8 and traumatized by 9.

Wish they hadn’t added the sex!

Profanity: mild Sex: no explicit scenes, but there is kissing and implied pre-marital sex Violence: mild-medium, gun/shooting, kidnap, murder Alcohol, drugs, smoking: some scenes take place in a bar Christianity/religion: none, one scene has nuns and takes place in a church Ethics/morals: feels like a standard good vs. evil LGBTQ content: none Magic: none Paranormal: none I was excited to watch this with my kids, there’s so much great history! But then they added the premarital sex unfortunately. It really didn’t add to the story line so that’s disappointing. My husband and I enjoy watching this

Prescreen the whole series before watching with kids.

Great story line, fun and adventurous. Great acting, you get attached to the characters. There are some sexually suggestive scenes that we could do without. The kisses are too long and intimate for kids. I know this is mild compared to many things but it’s still unnecessary to make this show good. The violence gets progressively worse as the season progresses, with an up close stabbing of a prominent character in the final episode. Watch before your kids do to determine if they can handle the intensity.
