So good!
Sesame street for the 21st century. Such a shame it had a short run. Great life lessons, interesting characters and not completely boring for the parents to watch either.

Will make your kid dazed.
I think this show is ridiculously overstimulating. They actually take overstimulation to a new level. The producers and directors of this show have to be men that think keeping a toddler's attention is done by captivating them in any way possible. The data is out that reveals that hours of television overstimulation in children below age of 6 from TV shows like this directly correlate with increased risk of ADHD. Overstimulation is not attention, its mesmerizing. Just because it is mesmerizing doesn't mean it helps your kid develop.

Too phallic and weird for innocent children!
I think the music is fun for kids and the messages are wholesome, but I cannot overlook two of the characters or the host. The host seems to be high. I mean he's obviously hallucinating if he's seeing these weird characters come out of a box who suddenly become his size. Muno is looks entirely too much like a sex toy and a phallic symbol. Foofa's name sounds an awful lot like fupa (slang for fat pubic area).

Fun & Educational
I start3d watching this show with my 'god son' when he was 4 months old - I was in my 3rd yr of college- (he had colic and this show calmed him down, but engaged at the same time). I started watching it with my son (he is now almost 5 months old, but started watching it woth him when he was 3 months); he absolutely loves it! Many good engaging characters, songs, and colors! They have great positive messages for young babies and children! When he's watching it he's pretty happy and engaged - he dances alot - moving his legs and arms- when the songs come on (helps when he was really fussy before 3months). We watch it about everyday! I like watching it more than Sesame Street all the time and most of yhe episodes are on Youtube!

Fun in small doses - and for parents who get it
So here's who will appreciate this most - young kids 2-3ish, stoned teenagers/college kids, and adults who grew up in 80's/90's and like a wide variety of music. If you don't fall into one of those categories, I don't know that you'll particularly enjoy it - but that's not unreasonable in my eyes. Not everything is for everyone.
The messages are positive and reinforce concepts very young kids need to understand. The characters are not any more weird than any Jim Henson variety muppets - some of those could totally be scary but the context of the character's attitudes neutralizes that, and so it does here. The music and guests expose kids to a wide variety of musical influences and personally I think that's a lot of fun. It's colorful and there's movement, but it's not a pace that jumps around and prevents focus with flashing and utter randomness. I can't say I've seen the whole catalog of episodes, but I've never seen anything that is remotely offensive to date. (For context, Cocomelon makes me cringe for showing things that are not safe like the kids riding in a car without car seats.)
For the age of kids who would enjoy this most, their screen time is likely pretty limited. I rate it highly as a single episode at a time; I don't suggest plopping a kid in front of this for a marathon TV session. Though we find this to be a fun show at our house, it is certainly NOT something to prioritize over other more directly focused educational programming. Definitely look to anything from Super Simple first and foremost (their wide variety of materials easily beat out Sesame Street at our house for our 2yo learning letters/numbers/colors/shapes, learning to sing along with songs, etc). But if you have a kid who loves music and dancing, and especially if they're already set on all of the pre-K educational concepts, then this is a highly entertaining option to mix things up from time to time.

Great Music and Entertainment
Some parents don’t get it. This is the only show my daughter of 1 1/2 years will watch. Unlike other shows (Barney, The Wiggles, etc.) the show isn’t sterile and they actually create original music rather than recycling old songs. Those shows can also have a snail’s pace for young children, while Yo Gabba Gabba only has quick introductions in a scene and then move into a song.
Some parents think that the show is trippy, but the intent of the creators was to appeal to childrens’ color and visual dynamics in collaboration with good songs.
While appealing to kids, the guests are some that the parents may enjoy like Tony Hawk, Weezer, The Shins... There’s also some great humor in the show and intentional overacting, which was specifically meant to entertain the parents.
One of the main themes of the show is inclusivity. I’ve seen some people make some off-color and borderline racist remarks about the show. This show definitely isn’t for your sort. If you’re parents that enjoy singing, dancing and a fun vibe, you and your kids will enjoy the show together. If not, you should look for something more low-key and play it with the volume at 1.
