Brain Quest Blast Off: Grade 2
What parents need to know
Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Brain Quest Blast Off: Grade 2 presents kids with challenging (for a second graders) trivia questions on a number of areas that come straight out of a grade-school curriculum. The format of the questions is varied to keep the game entertaining -- multiple choice, true or false, fill in the blank, word jumbles, and more. As kids answer questions, they work toward the eventual launching of their virtual rockets -- and thereby win the game. There are other Brain Quest apps in the same style that are geared for older and younger kids.
Is it any good?
The best thing about BRAIN QUEST BLAST OFF: GRADE 2 (as with all the other Brain Quest Blast Off apps) is that it truly feels like a game. It gives kids the same kind of thrill and entertainment factor that they'd get from Trivial Pursuit or a quiz show game adaptation. There's never a sense of "I'm doing this because Mom thinks it will make me smarter." But the educational aspect of Brain Quest is undeniable. And the varied question formats in these Blast Off games force kids to think in all sorts of different ways, not just parrot back answers that they've memorized. This is a great educational game.
