What's It About?

Chomp away at floating apples and bananas (vs. marbles) in this rendition of the classic board game. Simply touch the screen and your hippo will grab whatever it can with its mouth. Players can play for their best time, compete against the phone/tablet, or play against up to three friends who happen to be in their immediate vicinity.

Is It Any Good?

Kids say ( 1 ):

Few games invoke a sense of nostalgia like HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS, which makes it satisfying to know that Hasbro's adaptation of the classic game doesn't try to change the formula. The frenetic "grab all you can" mentality and gameplay is still there, and it's good, clean fun -- especially for young kids.

Fans hoping to play online or to see any sort of advancement, though, will be disappointed. This is, quite simply, an electronic version of the board game. There's no story or new goals to strive for. You play and you win or lose, then you can try again. It's as shallow as the water the hippos are feeding in, but that doesn't make it less fun.
