Childhood Favorite

Before I ever learned how to read, my mom would always read me poems from this book, which was my sole motivation for learning how to read. After revisiting it recently, it was just as good as I remember it being. There is some rowdy humor throughout, but often to convey a message or get a laugh. There isn't anything that a child is too young to see in this book, but if you don't want any humor of that sort for your children, this is not the book for you. The lessons are often things that kids should be taught at a young age, and the poems deliver these in a fun way. Many poems are just for laughs, but the majority present a lesson. I would recommend this book to anyone of any age, despite it being angled at children.
