A Song Below Water, Book 1

This book follows two young black girls trying to navigate the world through discrimination. Even though this is a fantasy story, it reflects recent events. There is a mention of the main characters going to a riot. A story of friendship, sister ship , and living in the present. Even though I found it hard to stay involved at the beginning, this story is still one I would recommend.
