What's the Story?

As ALONE OUT HERE opens, it's 2072 and 18-year-old Chinese American "First Daughter" Leigh Chen prepares to leave Earth ahead of a series of earth-shattering cataclysms. She doesn't expect, however, that none of the adult passengers will make it aboard. How will she and her shipmates -- about 50 teens from around the world -- work together to settle a new planet, when they have barely enough food?

Is It Any Good?

Kids say ( 2 ):

Isolation can lead to tragedy, as this tense tale of in-fighting aboard a spaceship piloted by teens proves. Author Riley Redgate starts the suspense high in Alone Out Here as Leigh Chen and her shipmates barely escape Earth. As their supplies dwindle, the passengers of the Lazarus reveal their true selves. The emphasis is less on physical action, more on psychological revelation, and Redgate is more than up to the challenge. Smart, tough, and poignant, Alone Out Here is a blast
