A Man Who Can't Write Female Characters

This book, while full of adventure and fun, is also full of tired female tropes. The sickly two-dimensional mom? Check. The plucky female at an all-male workplace who can't get ahead? Check. (And this is supposed to be the future, so the fact that EVERY SINGLE coworker is male is really messed up.) The female at a workplace who feels threatened by other women to the point of calling them, "bimbo" and "airhead." Check. This is the kind of trash you'd expect from a male author can't fathom women as fully actualized human beings. Role models: men oppress women and women are weak Language: misogynistic terms like, "bimbo" and "airhead" (specifically used as reasons NOT to hire a woman, so this book is advocating that a woman's sex life disqualifies her from being a good cop)
