What's the Story?
When ASHES OF GOLD begins, Rue, a teen living on a magical island near Madagascar, is in prison. An oppressor group has stolen her people's magic and civil war has broken out. Imprisoned with her is Jhamal, an ally from the other group. They will need to escape and unseat the Chancellor, leader of the colonizers.
Is It Any Good?
This exciting novel brings a satisfying conclusion to the duology. In Ashes of Gold, the character readers got to know in Wings of Ebony confronts challenges that test her self-assurance. Her bravery during a final stand confirms her capacity to be a leader. Though the two books in the series share the same main character and world, readers can enjoy each book as a standalone. This book is most suitable for strong readers.
