i think that this book is a very good book for kids to read because it tells about a girl named naomi and her brother which were left with their grandma.and naomi's brother owen was born deformed and their mom didnt want him
It was a great book that i think any age kid can read. It has the great story of how the mom left the children with her gram but when she comes to take them back they run to Mexico to try and find the father of the children. It was a great book and could not put it down.

One of the Best!!
Becoming Naomi Leon is a great teen book. Especially for girls. The story kept my attention the entire time! 1 read it in 2 days! The vocab is not dificult, so anyone can read it.. kids and adults alike!
Just like the book "Esperanza Rising" by the same author, I couldn't put this down! I absolutely loved it! It was simple, yet you really felt for the characters. I read this novel in the course of about 1 day. "Becoming Naomi Leon" is perfect for people, especially girls, that like realistic fiction. Told in Naomi's perspective, this book grabbed my attention from the first few pages. I definitely recommend this!
Becoming Naomi Leon; a rich, heartfelt story with heavy themes
This book is absolutely wonderful. The writing style and the characters are all perfect, and readers will fall in love immediately. Pam Munoz Ryan is an outstanding novelist, and I love all of her books. The heavy themes (some alcohol usage, a mean mother) make this a perfect choice for older tween readers (10 and up) who can handle it. I can barely describe this book except for what I've already said. Outstanding.
