Powerful story with historical significance
A powerful opera (that the book is based on). This was performed by children at Terezin, a concentration camp, during World War II. After performing, children were shipped to Auschwitz to die in gas chambers. Though it was originally just a opera for children, performers at Terezin used Brundibar, the evil organ grinder, to symbolize Adolf Hitler. The story itself has great messages about standing up to bullies. Ages 4 and up to handle the story, 10 and up to understand the historical part. 5 stars.
