I'm pretty sure this book will very positively impact your life.
It usually takes me a long time to finish books because I read a lot at once and get easily bored so I jump from book to book. I finished this one in two days, one of which was only the evening. Wonderful and absorbing. However I would have waited a little longer (I'm 11, almost 12) because it was a little disturbing at parts. Okay for most 11-year-olds and some mature 10-year-olds, though. I loved it. Giving it one star just to see if it affects the average star rating haha!
Edit; it worked, changing it back now!

Great book and great role model
This was such a good book! I read it at eleven, so I think the ages are from 12-13 when you should pcik this up, as I have always had a stronger gut for violence then other kids. Rape is mentioned but it doesn't happen-- also their father is abusive and their is a graphic kissing scene. I actually thing's it's a really YA book, and fits in the boundries of YA quite well.

Intense for younger readers put good for mature 13+
I’ve read many book in the YA genre and most romantic novels are pretty spicy these days but this one wasn’t. There are definitely nods toward sex and things like that but stops at a good point for mature 13 year olds. The father is abusive and it might be triggering to some people. I have not had any experiences like that and I didn’t find it too intense. Watch out if your are easily triggered by reading about characters who are being hit and abused. It could be considered dark and kinda is but I found it really enjoyable! So, “Whatever you heard about Caraval, it doesn’t compare to the reality. It’s more than just a game or a performance. It’s the closest you’ll ever find to magic in this world” (p. 19). But watch out,
“We will try to convince you it’s [Caraval] real, but all of it is a performance. A world built of make-believe. So while we want you to get swept away, be careful of being swept too far away. Dreams that come true can be beautiful, but they can also turn into nightmares when people won’t wake up” (p. 77).

Great Book! Below are also recommendations…
This book is amazing. The storyline is gripping and very unique. I like the different plot twists and I did finish this book in two days which suggests that it is a good book already! The rest of the series is also very good although who dante is is slightly disappointing and she could have made it less obvious…
I would also definitely recommend once upon a broken heart if you liked this as it is very iconic and about the Prince of Hearts!
I read lots so these are some books I recommend if you liked this:
Heartless >>>
The Cruel Prince
Good girls die first
Shatter me

A magical getaway in a book
This book is rather captivating, and at times gives you kind of a “surprise jump scare”. There are mentions of rape but never actually happening. As good as this book is, the fact that many male characters have more than one “face” threw me off. All in all, this book is perfect for those searching for a magical getaway.

No complaints!
My friend told me to read this book, and it’s one of my absolute FAVORITES! The chemistry between Scarlett and Julian was amazing! Scarlett falls in love with him, and they would do anything for each other, but above all, Scarlett puts her sister first. Although I say 12+, I think it’s good for 11 year olds as long as they’re mature. And it’s great if you like romance, drama, and fantasy! This first book in the trilogy is a heartwarming story about sacrifice and love. I would read this at school in a loud surrounding, and then in less than two minutes, I would get swept up in the story and feel like I’m in the book. All of the characters are amazing and play a huge part in the story. Reading this, I cried, I gasped, I re-read romantic paragraphs, I threw my book at a wall, but over all, I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK! Definitely read it, let your kids read it, you won’t regret it!
