What's the Story?

The CHAMPIONS OF THE FOX: THIEVES OF SHADOW, BOOK 3 -- Callan, Meriel, Foxtail, Gareth, and Lachlan -- take on what they hope will be the last mission forced on them by The Eye, a magic jewel that's replaced one of Callan's own eyes in a previous episode. The Eye has an agenda of its own, that much they know, as it sends them off to break a mysterious prisoner out of the emperor's dungeon. It's an impossible task, but they have no choice but to make it work, escape the Eye's power, and start a new life. Or, more likely, die in the attempt. As Callan finds himself transported several times to another world that gives him insight into his friends and their past lives, it's clear that despite his best plans, he's very definitely not in charge. But who is, and why?

Kevin Sands' young thieves face nasty criminals, brutal prison guards, and a world-destroying monster in the finale of his imaginative fantasy series, with plot twists and wild adventures galore. As the Champions of the Fox take on their most perilous challenge yet, their bond is strong and a lifetime of living by their wits serves them well -- but it's becoming clear that whatever's going on, they are absolutely not in charge of it. Plenty of funny, poignant, and harrowing moments, as well as a lot of clever problem-solving, keep the pages turning en route to a surprising but satisfying conclusion.
