What's the Story?

CONSTRUCTION SITE: TAKING FLIGHT! begins with a traffic jam as a bunch of familiar trucks (Excavator, Bulldozer, Cement Mixer, Dump Truck) head to the airport. No wonder they've been hired to dig out more roads and runways and lay foundations for more buildings. "With more runways for planes to land, this airport's starting to expand." As they work, they get assists from specialized airport trucks that get the planes ready for takeoff, even De-Icing Truck when an unexpected spring snowstorm happens. In the process of working as a team, they all become friends.

This story of a big construction project doesn't just show hardworking trucks, it provides a detailed look at the many different trucks that keep an airport operating smoothly. Construction Site: Taking Flight! shows kids all sorts of specialized trucks that help make the planes run on time, from ones that melt snow and ice off the planes to ones that keep tire rubber off the runways. There's so much information and so many different trucks, it could be overwhelming for very little ones. And the rhymes are occasionally inconsistent in terms of beats, which could be challenging for those reading aloud. But it's still a fun, thorough look at construction and airport trucks.
